I have been reading Melanie Testa's book, Inspired to Quilt, and used a few of her ideas from the book.  I used Citrasolv to transfer the image I made on my computer, then used colored pencils, paintstiks and thread painting to enhance the transferred image.  I also used a homemade foam stamp to stamp leaves onto a piece of silk organza to layer over the top.

I love the title of your piece as well as the scene. I would have liked to see a flag next to one of the stones though. Nice job. Nancy

Thank you for your comments.  I like the idea of the flag but it never occurred to me.  I guess that would have brought home the soldier motif better.  Thanks!
