I designed and made these bodices where inspired by period costume and the influences of other cultures. They have been mostly machined stiched, fabric manipulation and added feathers, beads and buttons. Curtaining fabric where used in these pieces.
Are these Merkins? They are beautiful.
Thank you - not sure what Merkins are - these are infuced by the stomachers 9 v shaped inserts in their dress fronts in the 1700's. I have a bed & breakfast and in the main lounge we have a drawn a map of the world and these are hanging with in that space.
