My Bio

Some of my earliest childhood memories are from helping my mother sew clothing.  I made my first quilt in 1971 for my niece and she still owns it.  I have a love for and appreciation for both traditional and art quilts.  During 2009, I discovered that I could make art quilts.  Now, I am working on different techniques and styles.  I am also using my Brother International sewing machine to do short arm quilting both on the machine and when I mount my machine onto a frame.  I have spent some very wonderful hours doing short arm quilting.  I love the colors, texture and feel of fabric and the challenge of making all those pieces into a wonderful whole.

  • Fiber Arts Invitational Show

Greetings,  I am preparing for a Fiber Arts Invitational Show at the Kerr Arts and Cultural Center in Kerrville, Texas.  I need six pieces which will hang for a month during July, 2010.  You may have seen my ranchscapes which I post on this website.  I am really excited about this opportunity; however, nervous and unsure.  Do I try to do something different or just stick to my landscapes?  Is there something I can do to improve the quilt or the presentation?  Any feedback you can give me will be appreciated.  My deadline is June 28th.  Thanks in advance.

  • fabric painting with watercolors

Greetings from Texas.  I am new to the site.  I am very interested in painting on fabric.  I have tried acrylics, oil and watercolor.  I would like to hear about watercolor techniques and how to make it permanent.  Looking forward to finding friends who are interested in art quilts and traditional.  Love and kisses, Ranchquilter.
