Hi from Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. We live in the Goldfields, one of the worlds largest gold producing areas. also nickel and other ores, on the edge of the desert. The earth is red, the sky turquoise blue and the eucalypts various shades of dull greens. Our mountain is the 'Super Pit' a huge man made monolith that dominates the skyline and the town.
We have lived here for the past 20 months, coming from the USA, Cape Giradeau, MO, via Whangarei, New Zealand. Although I am a New Zealander by birth, we have been transient for the past 10 years so home is where ever my husband, Kent and I currently are. I have been quilting since 1993, enjoying the support and fellowship of other Quilters following my marriage break-up and the freedom of expression and creativity enabled by Quilting.
From starting as most of us do, with more traditional styles of our art, I am moving to more creative expresions of myself and how I perceive the world...thats fairly profound isnt it! Ifirst came across Quilting Arts magazine about issue 3 when we first working as OTR drivers. What a Blessing it was to be able to absorb something I am passionate about, while living in a very male dominated industry.
