My name is Julie, and I'm an artist, author and autism advocate. I started quilting like many women do - when my daughter was born. And you should see that first quilt!
Or maybe you shouldn't...
I call it: "When Log Cabin Blocks Go Bad".
But she loves it, and that's all that matters.
As time's gone on, I've found myself drawn to art quilts, and am moving my studio in that direction. I'm also trying to figure out how to incorporate autism awareness and art (my daughter has Asperger's Syndrome, an Autism Spectrum Disorder), in an effort to continue to increase awareness of girls on the spectrum. But I also create because I enjoy it. And then there are days I create to pay the bills. *sigh* (Hey, I'm human! And I generate bills. Just ask my husband...)
Nice to "meet" you!
