My Bio

My artwork is known for its evocative use of color and focus on the beauty of everyday nature as well as the complexity of human nature.  In part, I hope to inspire others to notice and take action against the current devaluation of the natural world.

The twice-yearly trips I take with my sister in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness have greatly influenced the subject and direction of my artwork in recent years.

  • Last day for free shipping on my book

If you are tired of books full of projects and are more curious about the inspirations and motivations of an artist, then my book is for you.  Wild at the Edges: Inspiration from a Creative Life is stuffed full of artwork, photos of nature and my studio, essays, photos, and poems. But don’t take my word for it, here are comments from some of my readers:

It is such a RICH book. (I love this comment as this was exactly my intent in creating the book — to have something new to look at, read, or study each time you opened it).

Your spectacular artwork, combined with the enlightening text, and the beautiful photography; this book is a treasure!

I realized how powerful (at least to me) your art is when coupled with the photographs. You really should do an exhibit of both!

More readers’ comments and all the details about free shipping through today Monday, March 22 are here.

  • ToteTuesday Finale Now Open!

    Logo by Jeanelle McCall

The big ToteTuesday finale is almost here. The preview is now open here.

Please bookmark this page as it is the site of the auction opening for bidding tomorrow, February 23, at 11 a.m.

It is a FABULOUS line-up with sixteen fiber-related totes sponsored by, among others, the well-known Art Cloth Studios of San Antonio, Sarah Ann Smith, Jane Davila, Frieda Anderson, and, of course, Karey Bresenhan.

There are totes themed to felting, knitting, quilting, fabric dyeing, fabric painting, mixed-media collage, bookmaking, etc.  Basically everything we love to do!

We have already raised $9000 with ToteTuesday.

Fiberart For A Cause has donated over $190,000 to the American Cancer Society since 2005. I am confident with the wonderful totes and artwork donated by generous fiber artists and their supporters that I will be retiring Fiberart For A Cause permanently with a happy heart following a wildly successful ToteTuesday finale tomorrow.

Thank you for your support of ToteTuesday.

  • ToteTuesday - Bonuses and Challenges!

The generous artists of Art Cloth Studios have issued a ToteTuesday challenge!  If their tote raises the most money for the American Cancer Society on February 23, they will gift the winner with an ADDITIONAL $500 of art cloth.  So, of course, I had to add a few more twists and challenges for the big finale to add to the fun of fundraising for the American Cancer Society.

     All the details are here.
