My user name is Allycat. I have a grandchild whose name is Ally and I call her Allycat. I have quilted for 20 years on and off. I have a disability now that limits the time I can do any form of art work. My dream is to win a prize at one of the major quilt shows. Sewing, painting, art quilts, and other creative avenues make up what I like to do. Dying fabric is a new technique that I have been trying and I would like to do more. Michigan is where I live in a small city between Detroit and Chicago. Our economy here is very bad. I worked as a photographer and digital imager at the largest utility in Michihgan. I worked at the same place for almost 30 years starting when I was 18. I was fortunate to be one of the few people that loved their job. I have three children and 13 grandchildren. My dad passed away a couple of years ago from lung cancer and my younger brother who was 52 died from a massive heart attack. He died just a few months after my dad. At this same time in my life, I lost my job, went on disability, husband left and I lost my home. I am alright now and will work towards my dream. I also have a lot of quilts to make for my grandchildren. I love quilting arts and cloth paper scissors. Someday I wil lown a long arm quilter so that I can finish all of the quilts I am going to make.
