As far back as she can remember, Angela has had an ongoing love affair with all things fabric and fibre related. What began with her mother and her big sisters showing her how to make clothes for her Barbie, progressed to making garments for herself and others.
Home Economics in high school and some very unique summer jobs focused her attentions on the worlds of design and quilt making. Attending school away allowed her to further explore mixed media and take classes with well known artists and designers.
Upon graduation from Queen’s University with a degree in English/History/Political Science Angela returned to her roots to work in local quilt shops where she continued to hone her skills as quilt maker and fibre artist. It was during that time that she discovered she also had a passion for designing quilts and patterns and for sharing her love of textiles through teaching.
Since 2000, Angela has been working non-stop from her own studio making quilts and creating mixed media textile art for herself and for commission. She continues to share her obsession with all things fibre and mixed media with her students in workshops, lectures and retreats and online classes coming soon. Her prize-winning works appear in galleries and private collections in Canada and the United States.
