A Pipe Dream

three months ago now my teenage son flipped a coloring sheet at me and said 'Mom make a quilt like this' with a smirk on his face  , my first thought well that is a pipe dream if I ever saw one but if you know me you know I cant walk away from a dare 🙂

So today I can show you ' A Pipe Dream'  all finished and ready to go to the gallery . she is 8 1/2 ft x 7 1/2 ft and completely hand made

  1. definitely applique , hours standing at the wall pinning then basting this sucker ,and cut away all the backing once I was done with it to let it smooth out and lay flat , I think it was the flattest thing I ever quilted no major seams  either so the quilting went fast for something this big , the page I took it from looks pretty much like this without the little corners that I added ,it has 12 spokes which I took out with the computer and blew one up to the size of the background I had, which was a large piece of peachy wrinkled fabric I had for quiet awhile and couldnt get to play with anything so I started with it and found other fabrics to go with it ,I do enjoy picking fabrics with no clue of what I want till I see it all together ,with no rules except it makes me smile.
