Flowers for Dora

This is my first quilt for the Priority Quilts.  This is a project by the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative.  It measures 81/2 x 12.  Just under the allowed 9×12 size!  It is raw edge fused applique and free motion machine quilted.  The flowers are hand painted and then formed into yo-yos.  The leaves are also made from hand painted fabric.  The lace is from the collar of an old dress.  It was made for my grandmother, who has Alz.  She taught me to quilt.  She always said every quilt should have red.  It was also made as part of the Rainbow scrap challenge.
