Little Hummer

I painted the hummer on a painted fabric background I had done awhile back, then I free motion stitched the hummer and the branch.  The border fabrics are commercial fabrics that have been altered with stitching and paint.  I love Hummingbirds!

About Judy709

I really love to paint and I love to sew. Thanks to Quilting Arts I have been getting better at combining the two. I remember the day I first saw one of your magazines. I was speechless, thinking this is what I have always wanted to do. I have been learning and trying so many different things since that day. The hardest part for me was to let go of perfection and let myself have fun, not to worry about failing but to learn from my mistakes. I play a lot now and I fail a lot now but I have learned so much more than I would of thought possible.

  1. Great work ! I too have hummers in my garden, for the first time in years.  There are four female ruby thoats that fuss and squabble over one feeder, even though I have three placed at different places in the yard.

This is very noce ! I love the graduating color and textures of the blues, nice contrast to the cherry brighter colors of the humming bird background, it draws the eye right to him !
