My Homonym Challenge Quilt

This is my entry in the Homonyms Word Challenge I chose hair/hare and carrot/carat. The title of my piece is "Mad as a March Hare: I Put My "Hare" Up to Show Off My 5 "Carrot" Necklace!!". I am a hairdresser and I do portrait quilts and this word chose seemed appropriate. The carrots are made from Sculpey molding clay and made into buttons. I added rhinestones and some orange shimmer nail polish to complete the carrots. As I was designing this Alice in Wonderland came to mind and I seelcted the Mad Hatter style make up for the woman. I embellished the quilt with fabric paint, glitter nail polish and rhinestones. It is raw edged fused applique' and machine quilted.
