QA TV Series 500

In the fifth season of Quilting Arts TV, host Pokey Bolton and her guests bring you even more fabulous art quilting designs, techniques, and adventures. In addition to covering contemporary quilt design, free-motion quilting, machine embroidery, thread painting, and fused appliqué, this season we explore the use of photos for inspiration, easy borders, fused landscapes, and eco-friendly quilting.

Embellishment topics include bead embroidery, fabric beads, and metal objects. Surface design techniques include stenciling, resist painting, over-dyeing fabrics, couched fibers, stitch-resist shibori, collagraph-printed fabrics, an ink and aloe vera gel technique, rubbings using oil Paintstiks®, and even the use of shaving cream.

Projects include a clutch purse, an Ultrasuede® scarf, a fused and stitched table skirt, a frayed-edge patchwork apron, a painted floor cloth, fabric collage books, a bag with interchangeable covers, and a quilted eyeglass case.

Plus, we visit two major art quilt exhibits on location, and we learn about fiber-related travel in Italy and France.

There is something for every art quilter and mixed-media artist, beginning through advanced levels.

The Series 500 guest list includes: Natalya Aikens, Sue Cavanaugh, Jeanne Cook-Delpit, Jane Dávila, Eric Drexler, Ginny Eckley, Mary Hettmansperger, Susan Brubaker Knapp, Karen Linduska, Teri Lucas, Bonnie McCaffery, Judy Coates Perez, Leilani Pierson, Paula Prass, Luana Rubin, Belinda Spiwak, Shelly Stokes, Jeanie Sumrall-Ajero, Beryl Taylor, Carol Taylor, Krystal Wick, and many more.
