  1. This soooooo beautiful, love the colours !  did you habd quilt it ?   I did not know that one can paint on fabric with Sharpies are they Acid Free ?  I love your work , so very exciting  using mixed media.

So sorry for taking so long to answer back!  I didn’t know there were comments on this.  Thankyou all for the sweet comments!  This was done on a piece of cotton muslin.  I understand that Sharpies are permanent after heat setting which i did for 20 minutes in the dryer on high heat.  I haven’t gotten it wet since it was heat set, but I am going to spray with a Scotchguard and frame it in a black frame.  Oh, this was also machine quilted.

    Lindy… You may have prewashed your cotton fabric, but if you didn’t, prewash first to get all the sizing and chemicals out and press the fabric WITHOUT spray starch… pressing it with an iron on cotton setting and while the freshly washed fabric is still damp.  It helps with the wrinkles.  Sometimes, the wrinkles are a begger to get out after completely dry!  Use a spray bottle and distilled water if possible!  NO STARCH!  You want the Sharpies to penetrate the fibers and the alcohol will do its job.  Make sure to use 90% alcohol.  I bought mine in Walmart!
