  1. The sunset part of this quilt was made by cutting small oblong tiles out of various sunset coloured fabrics which were backed with steam-a-seam  and overlaying them over a suitable piece of fabric.  In this case I bought a piece of Gloria Loughmans hand dyed fabric and used the colours in this to guide where I placed the various tiles.  Once I was happy with the placement I sewed digonal lines along the edges of the tiles.  This was my first quilting class ever so am happy with what I produced.  Gloria Loughman has several books teaching different methods of making landscape quilts.  In this class we could use oblong, square or diamond tiles.
