  1. On Paragraph 5. That does not tell me where to sew on the Binding Strips (it says to the wrong side of each quited peace . . . but it does not tell me which pieces to sew them onto . . . I did sew the 3 binding strips together and pressed them in half lenghtwise.  There is not enough binding to sew around everything . . . so exactly which areas do we sew the binding onto.

    Thank You     Please reply

Watching the program at the competion of the carrier it showed how you closed the cover, it also showed laying something ridgid on the top of the casserole dish, but the instructions do not mention that.  What is it?

    Thank you,

  3. Dear visitors,

Harriet is correct; there is not enough binding to get around everything.  The binding is intended to go all the way around both of the large rectangles so you really need to cut 5 or 5 1/2 strips at 2″ x WOF (width of fabric).  My apologies!

We will update the online project directions shortly.

To answer your question, Mary, I went back to the video to take a look at the segment with Sara Hochhauser and Pokey Bolton.  Sara used a glass dish that had its own cover.  I know Pyrex makes them but I’m sure there are other brands as well.  You’ll want to make sure anything you put inside the casserole cover has some sort of spill-proof top if your casserole is not completely solid.

    Best wishes,

  4. Regarding the binding strip issue, the instructions do say to cut 6 2″ pieces; it’s in step 4 that a correction is needed.  it should read, “Sew the six binding strips into two sets of three.”  It currently reads, “Sew the three binding strips together.”

  6. Please explain where to sew the handles.  Do I sew them 4″ in from the long edge?  Confused, where directions say to measure 4″ down from center and sew 5″ each direction from the center.

Not sure if I align the strips with long edge or sew 4″ in from long edges?
