  1. Dear wildmelon,

    Your best bet is to purchase Prepared For Dyeing (PFD) fabric.  Some quilt shops carry it and you can readily find it at online shops as well.

    Candy generally uses cotton but you can also buy silk PFD fabric and other fibers as well, even perle cotton and embroidery floss!

  2. I’m new at this, so bear with me.  My question is – do I have to buy the pfd fabric, or is there a way that I can prepare my own fabric for dyeing?
