My love for sewing began at age 11 when I asked my Grandmother, we called her Nannie, to teach me to sew. Nannie had made many of the dresses my sister and I wore and I was eager to learn for myself. Nannie was an excellent teacher and I was quickly on my way to filling out my wardrobe with my own style and colors. My parents gifted me with my first sewing machine at age 14. I think they figured out that sewing was not just a passing interest to me! From then on I was sewing at home as well as at Nannie's house. Over the years I have added needlework, sewing household furnishings, weaving, quilting, fiber art ... the list goes on ... to the mix. Since that first sewing machine, my husband has bought three more for me! He also built a 24 inch table loom for me! I'm such a lucky girl!
