Addicted to Scraps - FireweedBlock
Fireweed

This design is from the Addicted to Scraps series by Bonnie Hunter.

Instructions to make the Fireweed block can be found in Bonnie Hunter’s Addicted to Scraps column in the Sept/Oct ’14 issue of Quiltmaker.

For a 59-1/2″ x 74-1/2″ throw quilt (as shown), you will need 63 Fireweed blocks. For the border, cut 2 4″ x 70″ strips for the side strips and 2 4″ x 62″ strips for the top and bottom strips.

Sew 7 blocks together to make a row. Make 9 rows. Sew the rows together. Refer to “Borders” in Basic Lessons to measure and trim the border side strips. Matching centers and ends, sew the border side strips to the quilt. Repeat to add the border top and bottom strips.
