A Silver Lining for Love of Quilting TV: A Letter from Sara Gallegos

Our best-selling online course is back and better than ever! APQS Longarm Certification Sponsored by Quilting Daily has been revised and updated. Not only will you learn how to make beautiful quilts, you’ll also gain skills to turn your passion into a paycheck with tips on how to run your own quilting business.

Sara Gallegos looks for the silver lining in the restrictions COVID-19 has placed on her life, and finds that there are more than she expected.

We’ve had to delay the filming of the 3600 series due to the current situation, which has its own silver lining: more time to consider the things YOU tell us in the survey, and to incorporate your feedback!

The survey closes June 1, so please take a few minutes to tell us what you think, and qualify to win a free one-year subscription to Love of Quilting magazine!

“Find the silver lining” has been a personal quest for me, now moreseo than ever. When I first had to cancel all upcoming travel and events due to the stay-at-home order, I was in a bit of a panic, but that has given way to many wonderful silver linings. I’ve had time to re-organize and set-up my home sewing studio, learn new platforms to connect with all of you virtually, quilt and, above all, connect with my family.

While we had to push back filming of the 3600 series of “Love of Quilting,” doing so had a few of its own hidden benefits! Angela and I always work hard to create the beautiful projects you see, but for this series, we dedicated some of this extra stay-at-home time into further developing each episode. We will be playing with new quilting techniques, fun threads, beautiful fabrics, adorable projects, and so much more!

We garner loads of inspiration from our viewers and feel a true responsibility to provide you with the types of techniques and education you want to see. To help us with that, please take this survey to let us know how we are doing and what you hope to see! You may even win a free, one-year subscription to Love of Quilting magazine!

I hope that, during this extraordinary time, you and yours are safe and healthy. One day very soon, Angela and I will be back in the studio to share our quilts with you. In the meantime, we look forward to hearing your feedback!

Thanks for watching!

  1. Thanks Sara! I think that as you pointed out, while it’s a change we can make the most of this and take time for our families and self care. One friend noted that it’s been two solid months now where they’ve had dinner every night as a family meal together, something that had been rare with all the school and sports and other activities. The difficult times gives us an opportunity to reflect on what’s the most important things in our lives. Stay safe and healthy! Look forward to seeing you back on screen soon!
