Inspired by her latest fabric collection with Contempo of Benartex, ‘Frolic in the Rain’ is a row quilt, which is a quick, achievable style of a sampler quilt. The spring-like quilt blocks take a core technique—stitch-and-flip—and maximize it with directional prints, fussy-cutting, clever fabric selections, and strategic pressing. In addition to learning how to piece this quilt, you’ll also learn how to quilt it, with free-motion and ruler work! Work out the quilting motifs block-by-block, and by the end of this 7-episode video series, you’ll have a whole new set of skills!

Yes, that’s right—this quilt-along is divided between 3 piecing sessions that gets you a gorgeous quilt top fast….AND 4 quilting sessions that answer the age-old question, “How do I quilt that?”

Well, Amanda’s answer is on a FRAME, with ruler work and freemotion, of course! While Amanda works out the designs block-by-block using a Q16 Plus longarm on a studio frame, she guarantees that all of these motifs can be achieved on a sit-down machine.

And if you stay tuned to the end of the series, you’ll find a few BERNINA bonus videos which highlight some key features for both frame quilting and adapting these techniques to a BERNINA sewing machine.
