Bust your stash of fabric.
Instructions to make the 6″ Flagstones block can be found in Bonnie Hunter’s Addicted to Scraps column in the March/April ’14 issue of Quiltmaker.
For a 42″ x 54″ quilt (as shown), you will need 32 Flagstones blocks and 31 Snowball blocks. To make a Snowball block cut 1 6.5″ square and 4 2.5″ squares for the corners. Use the stitch-and-flip method to sew a 2.5″ square to each corner of a 6.5″ square. Repeat to make 31 Snowball blocks.
Sew the blocks together as shown to complete the quilt top.
