Episode 1901: How to Paper Piece a Quilt Block – Times Square Quilt
Quilters don’t always sit at home piecing patchwork, a lot of us love to get out and see the world. This quilt was inspired by a fabulous trip to New York City. Marianne and Mary demonstrate paper piecing sections for a New York Beauty style quilt, how to join curved piece sections and how to piece a double square in a square block.

Episode 1902: How to Hand Stitch Wool Appliqué
For most quilters the language we speak is 100% cotton but a lot of us also have a collection of beautiful wool for Folk Art Appliqué projects. Marianne and Mary will share will you how to make a large circle pattern, how to mark and cut out wool appliqués, and also how to layer and hand stitch wool appliqué pieces.

Episode 1903: How to Sew Curved Seams with Your Serger
Quilters, have you ever considered using your serger to piece your patchwork? This program will show you how to do just that. National Sewing Educator Pam Mahshie demonstrates to Mary how to successfully serge a curved seam with a serger, how to set the proper stitch width for an accurate seam, and also how to hold fabric when piecing with a serger.

Episode 1904: How to Piece a Hexagon Quilt Block
Most quilt blocks we make are square but sometimes it is fun to mix it up just a little bit. The quilt in this episode features a snazzy hexagon block. Mary is joined by Sandy Gervais in this episode and they will share with you how to cut hexagons using a special ruler, how to piece a hexagon block –log cabin styled, and how to join hexagon blocks without set-ins.

Longarm Quilter and Quilting Educator, Dawn Cavanaugh and Marianne share with you how to choose the right thread, batting, and backing for a quilt, how to prepare a quilt for machine quilting, and how to develop your skills through practice techniques.

Episode 1906: Changing Up a Quilt Block
When Marianne and Mary go to quilt shows they see all kinds of antique quilts that knock their socks off. We have one of those quilts on the set for this episode. It’s an antique quilt top that was quilted recently and was the inspiration for Marianne’s quilt on this program. Marianne and Mary share with you how to take inspiration from an antique quilt, how to make 2” and 4” half square triangles with a special ruler, and how to change a block by using different centers.

Episode 1907: Creating Original Quilt Designs and Motifs
If you’ve been to a quilt show lately you may have seen some fantastic quilts whose motifs have been embellished by ink. On this episode Eric Drexler will show you how fun and easy this is to do. Eric will demonstrate to Marianne how to create original designs on plain fabric, how to embellish designs with fabric pens and inks, and also how to add depth to painted fabric using color changing threads.

Episode 1908: Make a Quilt Quickly with Jenny Doan
If you need to make a quilt in a hurry there is no reason to sacrifice beauty or interest. With a simple pattern and streamlined methods you can make a gorgeous quilt quickly. Mary and her quest Jenny Doan will demonstrate how to make quick 4 patch units from strip sets, how to use special rulers to make units for a simple star block and how to use high contrast and low contrast fabric combinations to control the appearance of a patchwork block.

Episode 1909: Make Scrap Quilts with Half-Square Triangles
A half square triangle is one of patchwork’s most basic units. Quilts that require lots of half square triangles are perfect for using up your scraps. Marianne and Mary will demonstrate three ways to make half square triangles, how to create star blocks using quadrants, and how to press patchwork rows so that your seams will lock.

Episode 1910: How to Add Quilt Piping with a Serger
Sometimes a quilt just calls out for a special edge finish. National Sewing Educator Pam Mahshie shares her favorite edge finishes with Marianne. Pam shows Marianne how to make covered piping fast and easy, how to add rick-rack for a fun accent, and how to make unique wave edge piping with a serger.

Quilters love to take classes but often getting your supplies to class can be a challenge. The project on this episode is a beautiful and clever way to do just that. Marianne and Mary share with you how to create a two toned zipper, how to make tote bag handles extra sturdy, and how to add pockets to a reversible bag.
