  • Learn to choose the best pet photo, then edit the image in Photoshop
  • Make smart decisions about color and design with Lea’s expert guidance
  • Complete a line drawing to use as a pattern for your quilt
  • Select fabrics for the portrait
  • Create fusible appliqué pieces unique to your pet portrait
  • Assemble, quilt, and finish the edges.

Suggested list of supplies:

  • Camera that can capture images at resolution of 300 dpi or higher
  • Photo editing software such as Photoshop Elements or GIMP
  • Freezer paper
  • Painter’s tape
  • Mechanical pencil
  • Red colored pencil
  • Assorted colored highlighter markers
  • A variety of fabrics in the colors of your animal
  • Fusible web product, approximately 3 time the size of your project, such as Lite Steam-A-Seam 2 or MistyFuse.
  • Scissors for cutting fabric and paper
  • A variety of threads to match the fabric selections (finalize selections after lesson 6)
  • White muslin, backing fabric, batting, and tulle the size of the finished project +4 inches in length and width
  • Sewing machine
