Episode 306 | What is the Keepsake Quilting Shop?
Jodie and Mark are at America’s Favorite quilt shop, Keepsake Quilting, located in Center Harbor, New Hampshire. They’re taping their Christmas show today in this huge quilt shop that boasts over 13,000 bolts of fabric, and best of all, Christmas is up all year. Deb Comeau, the retail manager, gives Mark the five cent tour showing all the fabrics, kits, notions, books, and gifts for sale.

Jodie Davis discusses her newly published books, Pocket Posh Tips for Quilters and Pocket Posh Tips for Knitters. Mark visits one of the owners of Machine Quilters Exposition named Janet Lee Santeusanio. Then, Jodie and Mark discuss old quilts that they term the “UFOs”.

Jodie and Mark dedicated this episode to talk about crazy quilts. They first discuss quilting projects they have been working on and Jodie shares with us the pattern, Crimson Christmas, she designed for Easy Quilts magazine. Allie Aller is featured in this episode as she discusses how she makes a crazy quilt block. She is a well known crazy quilter with a top selling book, Crazy Quilting. Allie provides all types of tips to help with choosing fabrics and how to sew curved seams for the crazy quilt block. Near the end, Jodie and Mark talk about Creative Quilts from Your Crayon Box by Terrie Linn Kygar.

The Quilt Out Loud team visits the Newark Museum, in New Jersey with their huge quilt collection. Mark humorously explains the difference between deckle edge and Décolletage while sharing with us Fiskars rulers. Jodi shares a great tip on how to fold and store fabric by using a fabric organizer.

Jodie and Mark visit Philadelphia to check out the Amish section of the Reading Terminal Market. Episode 312 | Collecting Quilts That Tell a Story
Mark Lipiniski and Jodie Davis visit Litchfield, Connecticut where they discuss some helpful products. Jodie shows a great product called Retro Clean which can brighten your old fabrics. Then Mark shows a new way to shop for quilt patterns by using Patterns Gone Digital. They also review needle threaders and visit a well known quilt collector, Sue Reich. This researcher and author has been collecting quilts for years.
